Taken on a school trip to Dundee on a CCF (army cadets) trip, this was our day trip into Abroath. This was taken on an Olympus EE-S, which I bought on eBay for £10--I was really pleased to see it worked, it really is a tiny camera and I love it!

I know I haven't posted here recently (well, since Janurary :$) but that should change..I just dropped two rolls of film into Boots today, and I should have time to scan and upload the shots now I've finished school! So, come back in a couple of days for updates...

:)

Spent the majority of the Christmas holidays revising for my January module which are now, thankfully, over :) This was the view out of my window one winter's afternoon as the sun sunk at the end of another depressing day...

The set of negatives this was on were ruined by the developing, all except the last 5 frames had green splotches and the negatives were wrinkled. At least some were savable though :)

Well, one big fat humungous apology is in order....the last time I updated was back in september....too much work...honest....:p

well, so much has happened since I last posted: where to start?

We finally got the Pelican out of the door, two sets of proofs and *loads* of corrections and it's finally done...It goes to the printers tomorrow and should be with us in a week or so. We've started work now on the next issue, that and my "Funky Magazine" idea (formerly 266c). I love graphic design and typography, I'm not great but that's not what matters :)

Schoolwork is depressingly overwhelming at the moment: the feedback from Parents Evening was that I was OK, but not great in everything. So that's been taking up most of my time, not leaving enough for other stuff :( meh, I@d better stop whining, I need to go now...

oh, and the image: taked in Cambridge, a rather neat piece of graffetti down the side of the Senate House...Minolta X-300 SLR with Ilford HP5 as usual :)

So, tonight's the last night of freedom: back to this place tomorrow...

I'm looking forward to meeting some new people in the form of the new lower 6th, having access to the darkroom again and cracking on with the Pelican and exploring possibilities for 266c. Of course I'm also itching to start disassembling my SLR in technology and seeing how it works! However, I'll be busy what with January modules and retakes. Oh well, c'ést la vie!

I've *just* won an adana letterpress on eBay, so now I just need to get the other assorted bits and pieces I need...I posted a freecycle "wanted" and got a response suggesting volunteering in the print room at the Cambridge Museum of Technology, which I think is a great idea. I'm going to find out when they're next open and try and go along and have a chat with the operators :)

Well, I've returned from my trip to Devon with yet another two rolls of film to process, that brings it up to 7 which need developing. eek. I'm going to get them sent off but I think the cost will be astronomical. So much has gone on this summer, but most of my time has been taken up with my job at solidworks. It's been a great experience and I'm sorry to go, however they said I could come back next year which is great!

It's that time of year again: back to school! I'm back on Wednesday, which means I'll have access to the school darkroom and film scanners again, and hence can hopefully post some new juicy pictures :) It's going to be a hectic term though, so I'm not sure quite how much time I'll have. I'm carrying on all my subjects after a good results day so that'll be busy, plus I'm pretty involved in the stage sets and Pelican magazine. I've got another magazine project that I'm thinking about which'll be cool, I've been mocking up some pages and I'll post more when I know it...

Stephen Perse, the founder of The Perse School Cambridge. I took this shot when I was playing with some out of date b&w film and chemicals at school, the negatives came out absolutely fine. This is a scan from the negative, as are most of the photos I'll be posting.

I've finally finished getting this thing designed, uploaded and coded. An apology to those who've been pissed off by the placeholder image over the last week or so.

This represents my fourth (or maybe fifth!) attempt at keeping a photoblog/blog/journal in some guise or another, a venture which has taken about two and a half years to get to this stage. However, this should be more permanent, not least since I paid for it. I'm also using the domain for some other services (e.g. my feed reader). As most of my friends will probably have noticed by now I've closed my facebook account (long story...) and the plan is I'll use this instead. So, if you're reading this, leave a comment to say hi :) I'll attempt to post at least three times a week, that means I'll have to get some of the 5 rolls of film I've got processed and scanned -- brb!
